Going Green(er)!

Many of you would have seen the big water tank in front of our hall. This provides rainwater for use in our toilets, saving thousands of litres of mains water a year.

In May we will take the first step to reducing our electricity consumption be replacing more than 100 fluorescent lights with LEDs. The new lights use half the electricity of existing lights. We are taking advantage of large subsidies offered by AGL so we’re not only reducing electricity but also expenditure of our funds.

LGSS pays nearly $2000 for electricity every year. The new energy-saving LEDs will help but it's up to all of us to do our part.
